Triage.me is a healthcare-focused app that uses SMS to direct uninsured patients with limited access to health care clinics, aiming to reduce emergency room visits by providing them with the nearest clinic options, hours, directions, and transportation information. The app, developed by Dan Wilson and Mark Olschesky, leverages Twilio's SMS capabilities to reach anyone with texting abilities, regardless of smartphone ownership. Triage.me is currently in beta testing in Wisconsin and Washington D.C., with plans to expand its availability to more cities as the team refines the app and grows their user base.
