Announcing Support for Regional Twilio SIP Registration
Blog post from Twilio
Twilio has announced support for regional Twilio SIP Registration, allowing users to connect their SIP-enabled devices or softphones directly to Twilio and use the Programmable Voice API to build powerful call-handling logic. This feature enables users to register their SIP device with the Edge Location closest to their location, reducing latency and packet loss, increasing flexibility and options for redundancy, and improving security and quality of service. The updated feature is now accessible via public and private Edge Locations worldwide, allowing users to configure their SIP endpoint to REGISTER to Twilio using any of these locations, including public and private Edge locations throughout the globe.
