This new feature called Sip from Twilio allows companies to connect their SIP gateways directly to the cloud with Twilio, extending the life of expensive telecom hardware and enabling features such as failover, retries, and weighted routing priorities. With this feature, companies can send traffic to any SIP endpoint, including arbitrary data back and forth between applications and SIP gateways, and enable username and password authentication using customer SIP headers.
