The Network Bandwidth Profile API is a Programmable Video API designed to improve the quality of experience in Group Rooms, allowing developers to specify how available network bandwidth is allocated and reallocate it to higher priority tracks. This release addresses issues with equal bandwidth allocation between lower and higher priority tracks, enabling better video quality and reduced congestion. The API provides features such as protecting audio quality, optimizing battery and network resources consumption, and limiting the number of displayed video tracks. A Network Bandwidth Profile is a JSON object that defines how available downstream bandwidth of a participant should be allocated, controlling bandwidth allocation and quality of subscribed tracks. Developers can set priorities at track publishing time, use predefined modes such as grid, collaboration, or presentation, and customize parameters to fit their use-case requirements. The API is now available via Public Beta for feedback and testing.
