Identify Anonymous Opens With Apple Machine Open Indicator
Blog post from Twilio
The launch of Apple's Mail Privacy Protection (MPP) has caused a shift in the way email tracking is measured, with many senders experiencing an increase in anonymous open activity triggered by Apple machines. To combat this, Twilio SendGrid has introduced the Apple Machine Open Indicator, a boolean field included with all open events to identify MPP-enabled user opens that are not from human engagement. This indicator empowers senders to distinguish between real human engagement and anonymized data, allowing them to respect recipient privacy while still harnessing the power of human email engagement data when available.
