There was a need for a polling platform, and The White House reached out to Wedgies, a real-time social polling platform. Wedgies had to scale quickly to meet the demands of 150,000 concurrent users and handle 120,000 API requests per minute in just 30 days. They successfully shipped a new feature and met the traffic demands they had never seen before. The platform uses Twilio SMS to allow users to respond to polls via text.
