We created a survey to understand how Postgres users around the globe are using the database in 2019, with key findings including increasing popularity, with 67% reporting an increase in usage over the past two years, and a majority (70%) defining their use case as app development. The survey revealed that 61% of respondents have been working with Postgres for more than 10+ years, and 45% adopted it within the past 5 years, demonstrating its growing popularity. Despite this, many respondents reported pain points such as documentation being a major issue, with only 57% finding the onboarding experience to be "fairly easy" or "extremely easy". The survey also highlighted the importance of community support and resources, with many users praising Postgres for its reliability and stability, as well as its flexibility and scalability. Overall, the survey provided valuable insights into the Postgres user base, highlighting areas where the database can improve while also showcasing its strengths and advantages.
