TimescaleDB 1.1 has been released with new features focused on enhancing and simplifying the user experience, including beta support for PostgreSQL 11. The database now supports covering indexes, JIT compilation, parallel append, `IN` and `ANY` queries, and first() and last() queries leveraging indexes. To improve performance, TimescaleDB includes a new tool called timescaledb-tune that helps users optimize their PostgreSQL configuration file. Additionally, the database has improved its installation experience with user-friendly commands for Amazon AMIs and other platforms.
