We've been catching up on our book backlog due to the pandemic lockdown, sharing what we've read lately along with lessons learned about product management and engineering. Our list of books includes popular science titles like Hillbilly Elegy by J.D. Vance, The Upside of Stress by Kelly McGonigal, and Factfulness by Hans Rosling, which taught us about the importance of empathy, reframing stress as a positive force, and using data to guide decision-making. We also read Loonshots by Safi Bahcall, which explained how to nurture moonshots and overcome pushback, and Competing Against Luck by Clayton Christensen, which popularized the "jobs-to-be-done" framework for product management. These books emphasized the value of empathy, framing, and data-driven decision-making in our work as product managers and engineers.
