The Time Series Benchmark Suite (TSBS) is a tool designed to help compare and evaluate databases for time-series workloads in the IoT industry. It provides a simplified experience for generating time-series datasets and comparing insert and query performance on various database technologies, including TimescaleDB, MongoDB, InfluxDB, Cassandra, ClickHouse, CrateDB, and SiriDB. TSBS includes specific use cases to bring context to testing and mimic production scenarios. The tool has been expanded to include an IoT-specific use case, which generates datasets that simulate real-world IoT scenarios, benchmarking insert and query performance, and simulating real events that can impact system performance. Benchmarking results have been produced for TimescaleDB and InfluxDB, showcasing the performance of these databases in executing IoT use cases. TSBS is an open-source project, welcoming contributions from the community to further expand its capabilities and support more database technologies.
