This open-source cloud asset inventory, CloudQuery, transforms data about cloud assets into PostgreSQL tables, providing visibility into the health of cloud infrastructure. Thanks to TimescaleDB, users can manage their data more transparently while maintaining scalability. CloudQuery extracts, transforms, and loads cloud assets into normalized PostgreSQL tables, enabling developers to assess, audit, and monitor the configurations of their cloud assets. The platform solves various challenges in the cloud, including security analytics, fleet management auditing, governance, and cost management. Additionally, it leverages its asset inventory to quickly detect drift against Infrastructure as Code (IaC) systems, such as Terraform. CloudQuery started a year ago, with a small team of open-source and cloud security enthusiasts, and has gained traction by solving the cloud asset visibility problem. The platform uses PostgreSQL as its underlying database, is open-source, and features a pluggable architecture with a CloudQuery SDK to improve developer experience.
