Beyond Multimodal to Omnimodal Intelligence to Drive Outcomes in Healthcare & Life Sciences
Blog post from TileDB
Healthcare and life sciences teams are increasingly generating diverse multimodal data types, such as genomics, imaging, and clinical records, which are often siloed and fragmented, leading to inefficiencies and higher costs in healthcare processes like diagnostics and precision medicine. To address this challenge, Databricks and TileDB have developed a joint architecture that integrates their platforms to handle these diverse data types, enabling more accurate precision health insights and reducing the need for duplicating or reformatting data. Databricks provides the lakehouse foundation with scalable compute and AI capabilities, while TileDB offers an omnimodal intelligence platform for organizing and analyzing complex scientific data. Demonstrations showcased how this integrated system can perform tasks like TCGA tertiary analysis and large-scale single-cell analysis, allowing for interactive exploration and consistent governance of multimodal datasets. The collaboration between Databricks and TileDB aims to facilitate precision medicine workflows, offering a unified data foundation that supports comprehensive analysis without the need for fragmented pipelines.
