Summary

We're excited to host our first two Timescale Office Hours of the new year, where our product and engineering team will discuss use cases, answer questions, and share knowledge with community members. To help users set up their schema, we've created a tool called PGSchema that provides three steps: input CSV, format, and copy. Additionally, we're recommending posting in our community Slack channel for unique use cases or working directly with your Cloud Advocate if you're using Timescale Cloud. When deciding between native compression and materialized views, consider your data storage needs and query performance requirements - compression is great for reducing storage footprint, while continuous aggregates can speed up queries that aggregate over time. We're planning to release support for PG12 in our next release, scheduled for late Q1 of 2020, and we encourage you to sign up for a demo or free trial to get started with Timescale Cloud. For optimizing query performance, consider using features like time_bucket and time_bucket_gapfill, and check out our blog posts and docs for more information. Join an upcoming Office Hours session or ask questions in our community Slack channel to get the most out of TimescaleDB.
