Kane CLI 0.9: Real Android and iOS Devices From Any Terminal
Blog post from TestMu AI
Kane CLI 0.9 adds cloud-based testing of native Android and iOS apps on real devices through the TestMu AI device hub, allowing teams to run natural-language mobile tests from macOS, Linux, or Windows without local Xcode, Android Studio, simulators, or emulators. Users can upload APK, AAB, or IPA builds or reference existing app IDs, let the hub select an available device or specify device names and OS versions, and watch executions through a Chrome-based live view, while each session begins with a fresh app installation. The release supports running the same test suites across desktop web, emulators, simulators, and real devices, including parallel cloud-grid execution and evidence collection containing steps, screenshots, logs, device details, and app-build information. It also introduces smart variables for unique test data, dates, and session values, alongside global and environment variables for running tests across environments without modifying test files. Kane CLI positions these capabilities as part of an end-to-end workflow for generating tests from requirements, executing them in CI or the cloud, and documenting coverage, while updated agent integrations enable AI coding tools to verify changes on physical devices. Real-device access requires eligible TestMu AI plans, has concurrency limits, and currently excludes adaptive healing and no-reset sessions.
