Introducing Test Deduplication and Archive Test Cases in Test Manager
Blog post from TestMu AI
Test Manager’s new Test Deduplication Agent uses semantic AI analysis of test case titles, steps, and descriptions to identify likely duplicate manual test cases within a project, presenting results in a scored review queue rather than deleting anything automatically. Users can scan an entire project or selected folders, adjust the minimum match-score threshold, compare cases side by side, change the retained base test case, and permanently delete confirmed duplicates while preserving associated test-run records; scans cost five credits only when duplicate groups are found. The feature supports manual and KaneAI-authored cases but excludes automation scripts and archived cases, while Smart Context is intended to help prevent new duplicates during AI test generation. Test Manager also introduces archiving for preserving uncertain or obsolete cases in a read-only state with their history and results intact, cross-project test-case sharing that avoids copying and retains a common source ID, bulk actions for up to 1,000 test runs, and AI generation of either manual test steps or Gherkin-based BDD scenarios.
