Tessell Welcomes Oracle Database@Azure
Blog post from Tessell
Microsoft and Oracle, historically competitors, have deepened their collaboration by launching Oracle Database@Azure, integrating Oracle's Exadata infrastructure directly into Azure datacenters to reduce latency and enhance security. Announced in September 2023 by Oracle's Larry Ellison and Microsoft's Satya Nadella, this initiative aims to facilitate cloud migration for Oracle customers, allowing them to run mission-critical workloads on Azure. Complementing this, Tessell's platform offers Oracle customers added flexibility, Oracle Platform as a Service (PaaS), and cost savings, enabling seamless database transitions across environments without vendor lock-in. Tessell's approach includes a Virtual Private Tessell model for flexibility and customization, an Oracle PaaS managed service, and cost advantages through Azure's NVMe compute shapes. The platform also supports use of Microsoft's Azure OpenAI service and offers financial analyses, Proof-of-Concept trials, and simplified procurement via the Microsoft Marketplace. Tessell plans to extend its services to include Exadata on Azure, enhancing its offer for Oracle clients transitioning to the cloud.
