Summary

Temporal has made generally available integrations for several AI agent frameworks and SDKs, including Google ADK, OpenAI Agents SDK, AWS Strands, LangGraph, LangSmith, Vercel AI SDK, and Gemini SDK, enabling developers to run agents within Temporal Workflows using durable execution. The integrations are designed to work with existing agent code while separating long-lived coordination logic from external operations such as model calls, APIs, and database access, which run as Activities. Temporal records workflow progress so agents can recover after failed calls, Worker restarts, or deployment interruptions without repeating completed model or tool operations, while centrally managing retries, timeouts, credentials, tracing, and replay behavior. Supported integrations can also stream tokens through Workflow Streams and allow agents to wait for human approvals or external input without polling or holding Worker processes open. Built on Temporal’s Plugin API, the framework supports partner integrations such as Pydantic AI, Mastra, and Braintrust, with packages, documentation, examples, and upgrade guidance available through the AI integrations repository and AI Cookbook.
