In early 2024, Tabnine has introduced several significant updates to its AI coding assistant, enhancing user experience and flexibility in coding projects. One of the major features is the ability for users to switch between different AI models, including custom-built private models and popular third-party large language models like GPT-3.5 Turbo and GPT-4.0 Turbo, which is available for Tabnine Chat users with SaaS deployments. Additionally, a new Onboarding Agent helps developers quickly familiarize themselves with new projects by providing essential information within their IDE, while the Follow-Up Questions feature suggests the next logical queries to maintain a seamless workflow. Tabnine has also introduced the option to regenerate chat responses with or without personalization, allowing users to compare responses. These updates were showcased in a webinar hosted by CTO Eran Yahav, focusing on new personalization levels, switchable models, and the Onboarding Agent, which are all designed to streamline the coding process and improve overall productivity.
