IBM Cloud Service Monitoring – Powered by Sysdig & Prometheus

IBM Cloud has launched a new service monitoring solution powered by Sysdig, which extends IBM Cloud Monitoring's capabilities by integrating pre-defined service metrics and dashboards for various IBM public cloud services. This system is designed to provide users with a unified monitoring interface that delivers detailed metrics for IBM-developed and operated offerings, such as Cloud Databases and Cloud Foundry, allowing for more efficient identification and resolution of application and infrastructure bottlenecks. A standout feature of this solution is its ability to monitor performance for resources where an agent cannot be installed, leveraging Sysdig's native Prometheus compatibility to enable broad cloud environment monitoring at scale. The service encompasses a wide range of IBM Cloud solutions, including platform metrics for compute infrastructure, database services, and more, allowing developers and DevOps teams to monitor environments such as on-premises and other cloud deployments from a single interface.
