Summary

Svix provides an OpenTelemetry Collector Advanced Destination that enables customers of webhook-based SaaS platforms to export webhook events into observability services such as Datadog, New Relic, and Grafana Cloud. Platform operators can enable the destination type and optionally configure connectors that simplify setup for supported providers, allowing customers to send event data directly into their existing monitoring tools. A default JavaScript transformation converts webhook payload fields into searchable and aggregatable span attributes, making it possible to analyze events such as email deliveries, clicks, unsubscribes, bounces, and failures through APM searches and dashboards. Customers can also derive metrics and alerts from tracing data, particularly for error events like delivery failures, avoiding the need to build separate internal webhook-processing and notification systems while reducing the storage costs associated with retaining full trace data.
