Hydra joins Supabase

Joe Sciarrino, co-creator of Hydra, has joined the Supabase team to advance their Open Warehouse Architecture initiative, which centralizes Postgres in modern analytics workflows. This initiative aims to integrate Postgres with object storage, develop serverless analytics workflows, and establish a foundation for open table formats and analytics-first tooling. Hydra's collaboration with pg_duckdb, an open-source extension that enhances Postgres analytics queries by over 600 times, is pivotal to this development. The ongoing work is set to remain open source, with Supabase taking over the maintenance of Hydra’s existing repositories and supporting the Postgres + Analytics roadmap.
