Data API Routes to Nearest Read Replica

Geo-routing is being released by Supabase to minimize request latency for globally distributed applications. It automatically directs Data API requests to the nearest read replica of a database, reducing latency and improving response times for users worldwide. The system uses geospatial algorithms to determine the optimal read replica for each request, taking into account the user's location and the location of available read replicas. Geo-routing is currently limited to read-only Data API requests and is only available via experimental routing, but Supabase plans to expand its support to other products in the future. To get started, users can enable experimental routing and deploy read replicas in regions where their users are concentrated.
