OUSD is now the default stablecoin on Stripe
Blog post from Stripe
Stripe has launched support for Open USD (OUSD), a stablecoin from Open Standard designed for global money movement, across products including Treasury, Issuing, Global Payouts, Crypto Onramp, Payments, Bridge, and Privy. Businesses can use OUSD to receive, hold, send, spend, convert, and accept funds, as well as build global card programs, payout systems, and wallet experiences. Stripe highlights OUSD’s predictable low transaction fees, absence of minting and burning fees, and partner reward opportunities for businesses that join Open Standard, including rewards on OUSD balances held through Stripe. OUSD is available on Base, Ethereum, Solana, and Tempo, with Tempo serving as Stripe’s default configuration, although customers may continue choosing other supported stablecoins and blockchains without converting existing balances. The launch is backed by founding companies including Coinbase, Mastercard, Shopify, Stripe, and Visa, alongside more than 200 network partners, and finance platform Ramp plans to use Stripe to offer accounts supporting OUSD balances, rewards, and always-available global payments.
