How the fastest-growing enterprises on Stripe scale globally
Blog post from Stripe
An analysis of more than 100 of Stripe’s fastest-growing enterprises found that they began processing cross-border transactions 24 times faster than comparable enterprises and expanded simultaneously across a broader mix of mature and emerging markets. These companies generated 1.6 times the share of cross-border payment volume in Brazil, India, and Argentina and, in their first year, typically accepted payments from customers in 25 countries, over six times the baseline. To support local customer preferences, they offered twice as many local payment methods and used infrastructure such as Stripe Checkout to reduce the effort required to add new options. Their international reach also brought an attempted fraud rate nearly 1.8 times higher than the baseline, yet they tended to use fewer, more targeted custom fraud rules while relying on Stripe Radar’s default models. Stripe positions its global selling products as tools for localized checkout, payment methods, currency and price localization, tax compliance, fraud prevention, and expansion into new markets without establishing local entities.
