Helping personal agents shop more intelligently and reliably with Link
Blog post from Stripe
Link’s wallet for AI agents, used by platforms including Muse, Meta’s personal agent, Grok Bot, and Instinct, has seen agent-driven purchases rise 38-fold in the past month and is adding features to improve checkout, recommendations, and consumer safeguards. Incremental authorization lets agents adjust an approved spending amount when final costs such as taxes, shipping, or baggage fees change, while checkout guidance helps agents address verification requirements or declined payment methods. Through Stripe Financial Connections, agents can—with consumer permission—analyze transaction history from more than 12,000 financial institutions to tailor store, product, and budget recommendations, with users retaining control over shared accounts and access. Eligible purchases made through Link can also receive protections for issues including accidental damage, lost items, price drops, returns, and return guarantees, with Muse as the first agent to provide these benefits. Link also plans to introduce spending controls that would allow consumers to set task-specific budgets for agents without approving every transaction individually.
