How to Use the RICE Score Model to Prioritize App Features
Blog post from Stream
The RICE score model is a feature prioritization technique developed by Intercom to enhance decision-making in product roadmaps by evaluating features based on four key factors: reach, impact, confidence, and effort. The model, which aims to eliminate bias, calculates a RICE score by multiplying reach, impact, and confidence, then dividing by effort, to determine which features should be prioritized. Reach assesses how many users a feature will affect, impact evaluates the potential positive effects on user experience and business goals, confidence measures certainty in the predicted outcomes, and effort considers the time and resources required for development. By using the RICE method, product managers can prioritize features that will most effectively engage users and align with strategic goals, creating more effective app roadmaps.
