From Tesla to NVIDIA, digital twins are a complexity solver

Digital twins are advanced virtual representations of physical systems that leverage real-time data, simulation, machine learning, and reasoning to enhance decision-making and improve products and processes. These models offer a more comprehensive perspective than traditional simulations by continuously updating from real-world data and operating in a virtual environment with greater computing power. Notable examples include NVIDIA's Earth 2 platform, which accelerates scientific simulations for complex problems, and NeuroTwin, an EU initiative developing personalized brain models for brain stimulation protocols in Alzheimer's disease. Additionally, the Shanghai Urban Operations and Management Center has created a digital twin of the city to optimize urban infrastructure, while Tesla uses digital twins for each vehicle to predict maintenance needs and enhance customer satisfaction. CloudTwin technology enables real-time simulation of cloud environments to assess the impact of infrastructure changes.
