Strapi’s latest updates, including the generally available Media Library in v5.54, introduce a persistent folder tree, drag-and-drop organization, infinite scrolling, side-panel file details, and MCP tools for managing media. Plugin developers can now add custom MCP tools, while AI agent actions are logged in audit trails alongside administrator actions, with expanded exports and event tracking. Additional improvements include the ability to terminate active admin sessions and warnings when publishing documents linked to drafts, while planned work includes support for bring-your-own AI providers, content-type folders, and TypeScript enhancements. Demonstrations showed how custom MCP-enabled plugins can support internal AI chat interfaces and selectively expose tools to external clients, how a Claude Code skill can assist staged WordPress-to-Strapi migrations through planning and dry runs, and how VirtusLab’s paid XECP plugin promotes selected content, media, relations, dynamic zones, and locales safely between environments. Strapi also expanded its LaunchPad starter projects to Astro, Nuxt, and TanStack Start, alongside Next.js, and encouraged users to upgrade, contribute TypeScript feedback, and share community projects.
