SDKs and Our March of Progress
Blog post from Speakeasy
SDK generators are often criticized for sacrificing developer experience, but the team behind the Speakeasy SDK generator is working to change this by creating generators that are both easy to use and enjoyable for developers. Since its beta release, the Speakeasy SDK generator has introduced features such as an OpenAPI extension that allows for multiple server definitions, enhancing the usability of generated SDKs by providing a way to set a default server. Additional features include comprehensive Readmes and code comments that offer installation instructions and usage examples, as well as support for custom HTTP clients to accommodate different configurations and proxies. The platform also offers improvements like Google login support, with plans for more authentication providers in the future, as part of its ongoing effort to enhance both functionality and user experience.
