Summary

Speakeasy has introduced automated role-based plugins that synchronize MCP server distribution with team access permissions, eliminating the need for administrators to separately manage server access and client plugin contents. Each role receives a matching plugin when created manually or through directory sync, and granting or removing a role’s access to an MCP server automatically updates and publishes that plugin, while preserving access when another role sharing the plugin still has permission. Existing organizations have been migrated using their current access settings, and administrators can view how servers reach teams through links on the Team Access page. Admins retain the ability to manually curate plugins, build them gradually, and add internal tool collections separately, while server-level access remains enforced by the MCP gateway on every request. Team members must still install or update plugins in their AI clients and complete any required server sign-in.
