Speakeasy has announced its participation in the Open Source Pledge, a movement initiated by Sentry to encourage companies to financially support open-source software (OSS) maintainers, with a commitment of at least $2,000 per full-time developer annually. Speakeasy contributes $3,523 monthly, totaling $42,276 annually, which amounts to $4,228 per engineer, supporting various OSS projects such as libopenapi, nextra, pydantic, and FastAPI. The company acknowledges the essential role of open-source projects in its success and API development ecosystem, and expresses gratitude to the OSS community, emphasizing the importance of creating a sustainable future for these critical tools that enable innovation.
