Outperform: Enhancing Fraud and ATO Detection Across the Customer Journey with Improved Email, Phone, and Address RiskScores
Blog post from Socure
Socure describes its Email, Phone, and Address RiskScores as AI-driven tools intended to help organizations assess whether contact details are genuinely associated with a customer and whether they may indicate fraud throughout the customer lifecycle, including account opening, profile changes, payment activity, account recovery, and one-time-password requests. The tools combine personally identifiable information with device, behavioral, network, and transaction data from Socure’s identity graph to analyze factors such as email construction and tenure, phone ownership and porting activity, address validity, usage velocity, and links between identity elements. Socure reports that from 2023 to 2024 its name-correlation coverage rose to 83.3% for email, 79.1% for phone, and 91.7% for address, while 2024 fraud-capture rates among the riskiest 5% of evaluated populations reached 68% for email, 59.7% for phone, and 50.7% for address. The company argues that using these scores alongside its Digital Intelligence product can support lower-friction onboarding, more targeted security checks, reduced false positives and manual reviews, and stronger defenses against account takeover, payment scams, and identity fraud.
