Summary

Property and estate transactions remain vulnerable to fraud because they often rely on paper records and weak digital identity checks, contributing to substantial losses from forgery, false records, deepfakes, synthetic identities, and falsified documents. Proof and Socure have formed a strategic partnership to strengthen fraud prevention across real estate, mortgages, banking, legal services, and other sectors by combining Proof’s remote online notarization platform and Defend product with Socure’s real-time analysis of more than 30,000 identity, device, behavioral, biometric, geolocation, and personal-data signals. The companies say their layered approach is intended to make identity scams more difficult and costly to conduct, particularly in high-value transactions. Proof CEO Pat Kinsel and Socure founder and CEO Johnny Ayers are also scheduled to discuss digital identity verification, notarization, and deed-scam prevention at the Identivation Summit 2024.
