Legal safeguards are notably lacking for many, especially in private companies, leaving personal risks unaddressed, and while the average tenure is about 39 months, reflecting the job's high demands, most CISOs successfully secure budgets by demonstrating business impact and ROI. Despite these challenges, CISO compensation is rising, particularly in public companies and high-risk industries, underscoring the growing influence and investment in the role as security becomes integral to business strategy and risk management.
