Snyk Impact partnered with UK-based coding bootcamp 01Founders in 2022 to support more diverse entry into technology through cybersecurity curriculum development, mentoring, and employment opportunities. 01Founders offers a free, immersive two-year, team-based coding program and guarantees two years of paid partner employment for successful graduates. The partnership was formally launched on September 15 with a visit by 30 learners to Snyk’s London office, where Snyk engineers discussed their career paths, workplace culture, problem-solving, collaboration, and the varied routes into software development. Participants also joined mentor-led networking sessions on cybersecurity, projects, career paths, and employer expectations, followed by a capture-the-flag cybersecurity challenge designed to introduce practical security work. Learner feedback emphasized the value of communication, willingness to seek help, continual learning, and the opportunity to gain a more realistic view of careers in technology and cybersecurity.
