To achieve this, Okta uses Snyk's developer-first tooling to scan images for vulnerabilities, compile results into a centralized asset management system, and enrich each scan result with meta-data. This process makes it easy for developers to view all images, their vulnerabilities, affected environments, and owners, without adding extra tasks to their plates. The goal is to shift container security left by implementing guardrails such as custom base image recommendations and more automation, including automated patch remediation across iterations of the same image and PR fix automation.
