Presto is a distributed query engine that uses SQL and supports querying multiple data sources like Hadoop, Cassandra, Kafka, AWS S3, Alluxio, MySQL, MongoDB, and Teradata. SingleStoreDB is a real-time, distributed SQL database built to handle multiple data types, delivering high-speed data ingest on a unified transactional and analytical foundation. When integrated with SingleStoreDB, Presto is more performant due to its support for in-memory processing, pull model, columnar storage, multi-level caching, and similar architecture. To install Presto with SingleStoreDB, one needs to download the Presto release binaries, extract them, configure Presto, add a data source, and run Presto. A sample use case demonstrates how to access Presto UI at http://{ec2-public-ip}:8081 and query data using SQL. SingleStoreDB can be deployed using various methods and works with analytics and BI tools, ETL platforms, security and governance tools, and monitoring technology.
