How DataVue Brought Phonetic Match Keys into SingleStore with Python UDFs
Blog post from SingleStore
DataVue, a regulated consumer credit data platform serving financial firms, uses SingleStore to manage multi-terabyte, highly wide datasets and support both its internal platform and customer-facing reporting tools. After moving from MySQL and Redis, it improved analytics and ingestion performance but still faced challenges running complex phonetic match-key logic across hundreds of millions of records, previously maintained separately in Python batch pipelines and SQL stored procedures. SingleStore Python UDFs enabled DataVue to retain one tested Python implementation while executing it within the platform through autoscaled containers, keeping sensitive data on-platform and maintaining auditability. The change reportedly cut monthly key-generation runtime by about half, eliminated temporary production-cluster scaling, reduced duplicated development and reconciliation work, and established a reusable approach for other custom transformations that do not fit naturally in SQL.
