Closing the Batch Gap
Blog post from SingleStore
The survey by the Enterprise Strategy Group found that there is an ongoing complacency with batch processing in enterprises, despite recognition of the importance of real-time processing. The results show that most respondents (86%) update their data sets for real-time analytics in seconds or less, but a significant majority (75%) update daily for batch analytics. This discrepancy is attributed to the use of time-consuming ETL processes, which lead to lengthy update cycles and contribute to the "batch gap." However, customers now have a choice to adopt databases that can handle real-time transactions and analytics concurrently, eliminating delays with ETL and achieving complete visibility to their data as it changes.
