Summary

Sigma’s October 2026 updates expand its AI-assisted analytics, spreadsheet migration, reporting distribution, and security capabilities. Sigma Assistant can now generate editable dashboards or simple applications from plain-language prompts using live warehouse data and existing permissions, while a planning mode lets users review proposed structures and data sources before changes are made; Sigma says its rebuilt system also reduces app-building time and cost while improving internal accuracy results. As a launch partner for Anthropic’s Claude Dashboards, Sigma enables paid Claude users to transfer prototypes into governed Sigma workbooks with chart SQL and filters preserved, then extend them with live data, security controls, inputs, workflows, and scheduled agents. A new Excel migration skill lets coding agents rebuild Excel forecasting models as Sigma apps, validate totals against the original files, query warehouse actuals, and replace manual driver cells with editable input tables. Sigma also introduced report bursting for up to 20,000 recipients from a single schedule, delivering personalized PDF, Excel, or PowerPoint reports and allowing administrators to rerun failed deliveries. Finally, Sigma announced PCI DSS Level 1 service-provider compliance for its platform across AWS, Google Cloud, and Azure, supporting organizations that analyze payment card data while leaving customers responsible for compliance in their own environments.
