Summary

Sigma has introduced an Excel-to-Sigma migration skill that enables coding agents to convert spreadsheet-based planning, forecasting, and financial models into governed, editable Sigma applications while checking results against the original workbook. Compatible with Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, and Snowflake CoCo, the tool audits workbook cells and formulas, maps actuals, drivers, and manual inputs to Sigma components, flags unsupported features or design decisions for review, builds the approved model through Sigma’s API and Workbooks as Code, and verifies calculation parity to the cent. In a demonstration involving a fictional company’s rolling forecast, the migrated app matched Excel’s fiscal-year totals exactly across 378 rows, while editable growth assumptions written back to Snowflake allowed users to update projected revenue, EBITDA, and net income in a shared application. Sigma positions the capability as a way to replace fragile, versioned spreadsheets used for forecasts, production targets, and demand plans with warehouse-connected models that centralize inputs, calculations, governance, and downstream reporting.
