Blog post from Sentry
Sentry has introduced a new monitoring tool for Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers, aimed at providing detailed insights into server performance and client activity with minimal setup through a single line of code. The tool addresses the challenges of monitoring MCP servers by offering visibility into client usage, protocol performance, and error tracking, leveraging OpenTelemetry conventions and Sentry's own insights from building and running their MCP server. This monitoring solution allows users to identify and resolve issues such as broken integrations and unauthorized access, and make informed decisions about feature development. Currently in beta, Sentry's MCP monitoring tool is designed for server-side JavaScript SDKs and promises to expand with more functionality and broader platform support in the future.
