Logs are Generally Available (Still logs, just finally useful)
Blog post from Sentry
Sentry's new log management system is now generally available, designed to enhance debugging by connecting logs directly to application traces, errors, and performance metrics. This integration allows developers to identify issues faster without the hassle of switching between tabs or performing complex timestamp calculations. The newly added features, based on user feedback, include Live Tailing for real-time log streaming, Alerts for specific log patterns to preemptively detect failures, and Dashboards to visualize log trends. These capabilities allow developers to address issues such as silent failures, flaky processes, and UI regressions more efficiently. Users have responded positively, with over 5,000 teams adopting the system and significantly reducing the need for manual log searches. Sentry offers 5GB of free logs per month, and the service is compatible with various programming languages, making it accessible to a wide range of developers.
