Sentry was born out of a simple example code pushed to GitHub by its creator in 2008. The project gained traction when the company Disqus started using it, and the team decided to double down on the idea. Over time, Sentry became a staple in the open source community, with contributions from numerous developers and companies. The company eventually built out a premium service, sentry.io, which has become a valuable business while remaining committed to open source. Today, Sentry remains committed to open source and is looking to expand its team to continue building its future.
