The process took weeks but resulted in a consistent and cohesive color palette for both light and dark modes, improving the overall user experience and making it easier for engineers to build new components without having to ask designers about colors. By implementing dark mode, Sentry was able to identify and refactor "Radioactive code" - poorly written code that was causing problems in their codebase - and improve the consistency of their design system, making it easier to maintain and update their application in the future.
