sem-ai 0.4.0: smaller responses, safer access, and pre-flight checks

Semaphore’s sem-ai 0.4.0 release enhances AI coding agent workflows through compact pipeline responses, context-based access controls, and integration with Semaphore pre-flight checks. Workflow and pipeline requests now return concise results by default, reportedly reducing response size by about 99 percent while retaining options for detailed output, response limits, and date filtering. A new context flag enables agents and developers to switch among organizations, credentials, and service accounts via command-line settings or environment variables, supporting least-privilege access for tasks such as reviewing pipelines or changing configuration. The release also allows agents to create and test pre-flight policies that validate requests before workflows run, such as enforcing branch naming rules and blocking noncompliant builds, although modifying the associated init job configuration is not yet supported programmatically. Plugins for Claude Code and Codex update automatically, while direct sem-ai CLI users must currently update manually.
