Introducing Just Run with Tasks

The newly introduced Tasks feature enhances workflow automation by providing developers and platform engineers with greater control and flexibility over branch, pipeline files, and parameters for each execution. This feature allows for seamless conversion from Schedulers, offering both scheduled and unscheduled modes to fit diverse needs, while eliminating prior workflow requirements, thus facilitating automation without constraints on branch existence. Tasks enable customization through branch and pipeline overrides and support parameterization, which significantly boosts adaptability for various applications, including periodic testing, scheduled builds, custom automation, and quality control of CI/CD environments. Furthermore, Tasks support platform engineering practices by simplifying infrastructure management and provisioning, while enhancing security through integration with Semaphore’s Role-Based Access Control.
