Deployment Targets – Limiting Access to Promotions

Deployment Targets is a new feature available in Startup and Scaleup plans that provides organizations with enhanced control and security over their deployment processes, essential for compliance in regulated environments. This feature allows users to specify which pipelines can deploy to certain targets, limit who can trigger promotions, and restrict deployments from specific branches, tags, or pull requests. Deployment Targets also store secrets securely and provide a clear overview of deployment history, including details about who deployed and when. To create a Deployment Target, users follow a setup wizard that includes naming the target, specifying credentials, defining deployment permissions, and limiting branches and tags. This feature is designed to add an extra layer of security by ensuring that deployments occur only when predefined conditions are met, thereby preventing unauthorized access and maintaining compliance.
