AI-Driven Development: Introducing Semaphore’s MCP Server
Blog post from Semaphore
Semaphore has introduced the MCP Server, a tool designed to enhance AI agents and IDE copilots by providing structured access to build data through the Model Context Protocol, which standardizes communication between AI models and external systems. This server, free but initially disabled, allows users to access information such as workflow histories and job logs, enabling actions like summarizing build failures, explaining pipeline functions, and proposing fixes. The current version is read-only to ensure safety while collecting user feedback, with future capabilities planned. Users can access the server through their existing API tokens, and the system supports integration with popular tools like Claude Code, OpenAI's Codex, and VS Code. Semaphore encourages feedback and collaboration to further improve the server's functionality.
