Behind the Scenes at the ScyllaDB Developer Conference and Hackathon

The ScyllaDB Developer Conference 2020, initially planned to be held in Poland, adapted to a virtual format due to COVID-19, maintaining its core focus on enriching developer learning and fostering team collaboration. The event spanned eight days with 18 sessions, featuring lectures on core technologies, customer insights, and future plans, along with fun activities like Kahoot! games to enhance team bonding. A highlight was the hackathon, where developers pitched project ideas, formed teams, and collaboratively worked for three days, resulting in innovative solutions like the ScyllaDB S3 API and Virtual Table API, which won first place. The conference, despite being virtual, succeeded in engaging participants and fostering a creative and collaborative environment, with plans already underway for future events and continued sharing of the projects developed during the hackathon.
